As a result of the increasing number of vehicle-into-building crashes, both local and federal governments are beginning to adopt legislation requiring protective devices, such as bollards, to be installed around properties. Calpipe Security has designed and tested a shallow mount, removable bollard to ASTM’s F3016-14 Standard Test Method for Surrogate Testing of Vehicle Impact Protective Devices at Low Speeds obtaining an S30/P1 anti-ram rating. The shallow 12” depth foundation requires no rebar, only welded wire mesh (WWM), saving installation time and costs. The PDT08080SMR-S30 is tested and certified as a single bollard, affording designers a multitude of layout variances with the ability to extrapolate from the minimum required foundation allows facilities flexibility in use to remove and insert the bollard when needed to better protect people and property that are vulnerable to vehicular impact.
