As a result of the increasing number of vehicle-into-building crashes, both local and federal governments are beginning to adopt legislation requiring protective devices, such as bollards, to be installed around properties. Calpipe Security has designed and tested an internal-locking, removable bollard to ASTM’s F3016-14 Standard Test Method for Surrogate Testing of Vehicle Impact Protective Devices at Low Speeds obtaining an S10/P1 anti-ram rating. Tested and certified as a single bollard, the PDT06080R-S10 affords designers a multitude of layout variances with the ability to extrapolate from the minimum required foundation and allows facilities flexibility in use to remove and insert the bollard when needed to better protect people and property that are vulnerable to low-speed vehicular impact.
